Meet Sarah
Resume
Sarah’s resume includes an outline of her career roles and accomplishments.
Her past roles have also provided her with experience, but perhaps not qualifications, in the following areas. These were sadly left off the resume:
hand modeling
interior and set design
prop and food styling
location scouting
travel planner
My resume is cool and all, but if you want more information on how I approach work, see below!
If you want more information about me in general, here you go! Born and bred in Raleigh, NC. Tar Heel. Carolina Hurricanes Fan. Based in New York City (for now).
What I’ve Done
Over five years of experience driving success for brands through: brand positioning, brand voice development, creative strategy, account management, project management, stakeholder/IAT management, go-to-market strategies, communications frameworks, organic/paid media campaigns, website redesign and maintenance, and TV/social/radio content production.
How I Approach Work
I balance big-picture-thinking with a healthy obsession of detail. During onboarding, I deep dive into a brand’s historical context through the truth model: consumer truth, brand/product truth, and the cultural truth.
Additionally, I request performance data and learnings from previous campaigns, so I can properly guide the creative direction for future work. I show up to each meeting energized with a clear agenda, pre-set expectations, and goal to maximize collaboration and each person’s time.
I believe the details matter and every interaction with a client, stakeholder, or consumer is an opportunity to leave a lasting impression.
My Favorite Campaigns
My favorite campaign I’ve worked on is Verizon’s annual iPhone campaign featuring Cecily Strong and Adam Scott. We were presented with a unique challenge: drive both device and Apple One plan sales, while ensuring the spot breaks through the mobile carrier competition.
Each Verizon ad involves a lot of legal and language mandatories, but we ultimately delivered an entertaining and smart spot that tested clearly with consumers and delivered successful target sale results.
How I Manage Priorities & Deadlines
I use a combination of project management tools (Smartsheet, Google software, and my personal to-do list) to stay on track and deliver early and above expectations. As a team, we regularly meet to ensure all projects are progressing properly. I work well under pressure and both independently and cross-functionally across my teams and projects.
Why Me: I’m your go-to.
Have a question? I’ll get you an answer. Tight deadline? I’ll explore every avenue to get it done on time and in budget. This is my mindset across every facet of my work, as a direct report, team contributor, and people manager.
I’m proactive. I don’t wait until the last minute. I deliver early, exceptionally, and I’m already thinking about what I can get ahead of next.
I’m scrappy. If I don’t know how to do something or need to develop an essential skill to get the job done, I will figure it out.
I’m thoughtful. When contributing to the team, I ensure my feedback and POV is supported by data, grounded by my knowledge of the client and category, and based on my historical context.
I’m a problem-solver. As issues arise, and they do, I am the first person to come to the table with a thoughtful solution and path forward for stakeholder alignment.
I’m results-driven. I want to see the data: good or bad, so I can make adjustments to guarantee a successful future for my team and clients.
I’m a team player. I know how to collaborate so all teams are contributing and bought in to the work. I aim to bring out the best in people and care deeply about personal and professional development so all parties feel valued and like they’re growing.
